What is this?
Hi! I made this site for a course in the HCI graduate program at DePaul.
I also made it because I was sick of navigating the very mobile-unfriendly Wikipedia lists for Hugo and Nebula nominees in bookstores.
One of the first speculative fiction books I ever read was A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. That was the first time I remember getting that "wrinkly" feeling you get in your brain after finishing a book. That feeling as though something inside you has shifted or expanded-- that you are a slightly different person with a slightly different perspective, having experienced something incredible through someone else's eyes.
My hope is that this site makes it a little easier for you to find that wrinkly brain feeling.
Pull this site up when you're at a bookstore to hunt for the titles that intrigue you.
You can use the filters on the Books page to narrow the list to your preferred time periods, subgenres and themes.
Alternatively, use the links to purchase your precious tomes online. (Still in progress!)
